Have you tried a cassette made for 2" silicon wafers?  They are still on the
market and may work for you.

In our research, we need to carry around small silicon samples, about 1" x 
1".  Does anyone know where we can buy sample holders/boxes that enable us 
to carry many 1" x 1" silicon samples?  We prefer that samples can be stored

vertically, but do not have to.
