Hi,
i am having problems in etching electroplated silver with the etchant
with which i succesfully etched the sputtered silver. My electroplated
silver is white in color whereas the sputtered silver is like a
mirror. The etchant which i am using is having a composition of
Methanol: hydrogenperoxide : ammonium hydroxide in the ratio of 4:1:1.
This particular etchant is capable of etching the sputtered silver
properly but fails to etch the electroplated silver. Can someone throw
a light on this issue?
