I would keep the first one, that is defined inconditionally (the other
one is defined inside an "if", anatema! :-p) and has an useful comment.
But, please, change it to check the "minimum_degree" of current node
(the one passed as a parameter), since a BTree could possibly use Bnodes
of different degrees.
