Your patch is in production since late friday. Working wonderfully.

To stress it, I set the cache size to "1" object. My HDs almost melted
the datacenter Monday morning :-). I had to increase the cache size to
my previous 10.000 objects (each object can be up to 64KBytes in size)
to be able to server my users, but durus code didn't implode. Good!.

Feels the patch is good enough for a future 3.5.1 release.
