Are you doing a nonlinear analysis? A nonlinear analysis is needed for large deflections. This is the mode in which ANSYS solves for a deflection, then reapplies the loads to the new shape. This is iterated until there change between solutions is negligible. --Kirt Williams ----- Original Message ----- From: "chaitanya kulkarni"To: Sent: Wednesday, November 24, 2004 11:18 AM Subject: [mems-talk] MEMS electrostatic analysis using ansys > Dear all, > while doing electrostatic analysis on cantilever beam in ANSYS I'm > facing one difficulty; as my results are matching with simplified > spring mass system when the deflection is small but giving high error > when deflection becomes large.
