I thought monocrystalline silicon is not a piezoelectic material.
silicon has a symmetrical crystalline structure with covalent bondings. Most
of piezoelec. material lacks a center of symmetry and are with ionic bonds.
(e.g. NaCl)

piezoelectric effect is not equivalent to peizoresistive effect.
