Torsten, Thanks for sticking out your head! Unfortunately, I fully have to agree with the fact that this forum has grown out to a low quality message board. This problem has been discussed with a few members at conferences and many of our colleagues that used to visit and reply in the forum have given up because of exactly this problem. Part of the frustration is coming from emerging scientific activity in areas outside of Europe, the US and Japan. For some reason, the users from these geographical areas are not too familiar with net etiquette, and in particular etiquette that is expected on a scientific forum like MEMS-Exchange. Although I think you set the right step forward, I really believe that nothing will change. I think the best way to deal with these annoying contributions is to ignore them, unless some dramatic changes are made to the access rights for users. Again, thanks for taking the initiative! Good luck, Bas Garst >>> torsten.wagner@fh-aachen.de 05/03/06 12:34 PM >>> Dear Community, I do not know whether it just disturbs just me or I'm even wrong. Moreover, I'm more a reader than a writer to this list and therefore, I may have even not the right to write these lines. However, To all people out there who believes that they can gather quick information about a topic, machine or vendor by writing a 3-line mail to this list like: To All, I like to measure / buy / create something could you please send me information. Regards Lazy THIS WILL NOT WORK !!!!! How could you believe that people here will do your job ? The gathering of information is the first step of a new engineering-task. Nobody can help you here. Please stop to ask such questions. After getting an idea of what you want and after you are familiar with the basics of your new task feel free to ask about specific details. In addition you have to add as much information as possible to your question to give people an idea what you like to do. Read paper in journals concerning your topic, search in google etc., read textbooks ask stuff and colleagues ... and then ask here. As far as I understood this mailing-list was created for DETAILED discussion of MEMS-devices and -technology. It is NOT a write-my-thesis-list do-my-job-list and its not a human-powered-google-filter Sorry, but I really get angry about all these question since I have the feeling they are becoming more and more. To all others here: Nice interesting list, I enjoy to read it. Greetings Torsten
