Hi all. I __heartily__ endorse the proposal to start a _moderated_ newsgroup sci.mems and I kiss the feet of anyone willing to take on the chore of managing it. I think it could also be backed up by semi-archival Web page, "Best of sci.mems" if someone is willing to do updates. I am less sanguine about an unmoderated newsgroup. For a real disaster, take a gander at sci.chem BTW, sci.nanotech _IS_ a moderated newsgroup, run by John Storrs Hall. I also favor retaining the present mailing list. But please, please, please, let's all of us reply to the poster by default rather than to the mailing list as a whole. Is this kind of resolution possible? Analog Devices have one with a 5 mili g resolution. Anything beter out there? Could you send me a little more information on the meeting format, likely presenters, and any background that may be helpful. Will you be at the Houston conference in October? Thank you for your time. __________________________________________________________________________ Nick Davinic Voice: 202-404-7410 Code 8222, Engineering Studies Fax: 202-767-9339 Naval Research Laboratory E-Mail: Davinic@nrlfs1.nrl.navy.mil Washington, DC 20375-5320
