You should contact plating chemicals suppliers such as Technic, Shipley, Enthone, and others and ask for plating solutions for permalloy electroplating. At least they would advise what solutions you may want to try. While permalloy is not simplest alloy to be plated there are a number of other alloys electroplated regularly including brass (CuZn) and solder (SnPb). In most instances any metal present in the solution will electroplate if the metal's redox potential is more positive then the potential imposed by the power supply (usually measured with the Luggin capilary and reference electrode). Sometimes this simultaneous deposition is intended e.g. when alloy is plated, sometimes it is a nuisance when metal impurities interfere with pure metal deposition.
