May 4 In knife sharpening the forming of a feather edge is what it's all about. I've done it many times by hand. So, I suggest you try using the kinds of abrasives that would be used for knife sharpening. Start with a course grit, and follow with increasingly finer grits. "Carborundum" should work on stainless steel. Another thing to try is diamond (like a diamond hone or diamond wheel). Maybe these ideas will be useful.
