IGES file generation from L-Edit database

Hi Naresh,

I havent used much L-edit, but this is one way to
convert file types. Link-CAD
http://www.bay-technology.com/linkcad.htm can convert
from Ledit to dxf.

Then, www.rhino3d.com (and others) can convert from
dxf to IGES.

2-D to 3D conversion: it depends how ansys treats the
entities in the converted iges file. I remember
drawing in ProE and importing the file in ansys and
meshing. It was a mess, because ansys had trouble
identifying the nodes/elements. I would say write a
text-script file in ansys, import the 2D model (iges),
and extrude/modify the 2D model to 3D. Does this make
sense?
