The mems-talk list directs replies back to the list, though, and I often had to reject posts that really should have been sent privately. Replies to MEMS-business messages will go to the original poster, so most replies on that list will be private without requiring moderator intervention. My apologies for approving the original SAMCO posting, by the way. Messages get approved in batches, and the first posting looked like an innocuous question. It was only a second message in the next batch that made it clear the original posting was from a SAMCO employee. -- A.M.
