Hi, Virginie: If all the methyl groups of PP were converted to -COOH groups, the polymer would change to poly(acrylic acid). However, poly(acrylic acid) might not be easy to be processed as a film. If you want your final polymer have good film formability, you may try Nucrel® of DuPont company, which is a copolymer of ethylene and acrylic acid. Hi, I need to either make -or buy- a PP film with its methyl groups being converted into COOH groups. Maybe that would be a PMMA film? I am not very familiar with polymers! I am an organic chemist and can do traditional organic chemistry.
