You are right. I have confused the Au-5 Cyantek gold etchant for aqua
regia. Aqua regia in our labs etched Nickel at about 100 nm/min. The Au-5
Cyantek solution of KI + I2 did not etch the Nickel. I apologize for the
confusion.
