Hi Umesh- Specialized tools are required for designing MEMS devices, because they are multiphysics systems and often require design and analysis in three dimensions in addition to behavioral and system level modeling. Of course, these tools must be highly integrated with IC design tools so that systems containing MEMS and ICs can be designed and simulated together. Many of the familiar IC tools can be extended for MEMS but in addition, specialized tools must be also used. Our company makes MEMS design tools that link to Cadence's tools and more information can be found at www.memscap.com and a general resource for you might be our website allaboutmems.com.
