Dear all Does anyone have experience of transferring solid models from a MEMS CAD package (such as Coventorware, for example) to a rendering and animation program (such as POV-ray or 3DMax)? Quite often the vibrations of a MEMS resonator (for example) are difficult to explain just using an SEM image or a still 3D image from a CAD solid model. Coventorware produces 3D models of MEMS devices in IGES format, a standard CAD object description format. There are easy-to-use animation programs that work well in engineering and scientific visualisation (e.g. POV-ray) but they accept only a limited set of file formats describing objects in the "scene". Has anyone bridged-the-gap and found a way of transferring and converting 3D models from CAD package to animation package?
