I picked up maintenance of Medusa so that a number of
frequently-encountered bugs got fixed, but have no plans of advancing
it at all.  The Python community seems to be shifting toward Twisted
for that sort of thing, but Twisted is way too big to include.
I fear there's no good solution for this problem right now.
