[I suppose this is an ignorant question--appologies for that] I was looking for a routine that encodes special characters in a string (such as accented characters or German umlauts) to their corresponding HTML entities. I expected to find it in a standard python library or in quixote--but all I found was htmlentitydefs. Not that it would be excessive work to write my own--just that I thought it was nicer to use a more standard approach. Can anyone point me to the routine? thanks --b /----------------------------------------------------------------- | Bud P. Bruegger, Ph.D. | Sistema (www.sistema.it) | Via U.
