I have been using Quixote in Windows XP and Windows 2000 in combination with Medusa, and have been very happy with it. Earlier, I ran Quixote under Xitami in Windows XP, just using CGI, and had no problems. Xitami has a performance-boosting thing called long-running web processes (LRWP), which has a Python API developed, I think, by Greg Ward. I experimented with Webware a couple of years ago in connection with my application (an intranet equipment diagnostics thing using ODBC to talk to a database). As I recall, Webware was approximately as nice as Quixote, but the developers were busy adding frills and bells and whistles, and I just needed a basic core product that worked. At the time, there was also no obvious choice for an HTTP server that I could integrate with a Webware app and deliver with the same installer on the same CD. Quixote with Medusa is just exactly what I want, it works very well, it is easy to understand, and it is well supported. Jim Dukarm DELTA-X RESEARCH Victoria BC Canada
