I bet you did the whole thing on purpose. :) Seriously, though, the non-stringness of htmltext is, for me at least, the biggest problem with the entire Quixote system. It's a trap that is easy to fall into, and it can lurk and blow up on you at inopportune times far in the future. Almost every piece of unwanted "Quixote traceback" mail in my mailbox in recent times has been a "but I wanted a string" crash. If I can carve out some time, I may try to take a crack at this myself. That's a big "if", it's been hard to find the time to breathe lately. jon
