For those seeking examples, I've placed my efforts into CVS
(and WebCVS for those wanting to just browse source) at:

The work is crude and in the early stages but anyone is
welcome to watch over my shoulder via CVS that wants to.

The app does show using two ZODB datastores, with a
gdbm storage to store non-undoable persistent sessions
and file storage for the rest of the data.
