It seems to push machines a little differently than ab so it might give you different results. On my dual Opteron server running Gentoo Linux AMD64 if I remember correctly after installing Twisted and benchmarking its main page http://localhost/ and only getting around 25rps with Apache2.x getting 4-5,000 I didn't explore any further with Twisted. Twisted may perform better than that, I don't know. Httperf may have been stressing or finding problems with Twisted. Nevertheless, I didn't explore. Anyway. Try Httperf. It may prove interesting.
