I suppose that's the most likely course.  If I wanted to host several
complicated Quixote apps, they'd all have separate drivers.  If I
wanted them to be tied together, then I'd have to write Python glue.
Because Quixote modules are easily importable from other modules, that
shouldn't be too difficult, assuming the original author was careful.

So I now agree that the application state is no longer needed; rip it out.
