Another solution might be WebDav, but the integration with
webapplication will be lost.. this little trick can help:
Click here to upload files
For IE clients ((un)fortunately the majority ;-) this link will
automatically open webfolder in a new window.
All other clients get a page with explanation what should they do to
connect. For OS X users it will be as easy as pressing apple + k in
Finder and pasting the url... ;-)

I wonder if anyone who is using Twisted + Quixote tried the akaDav
module for Twisted? It sounds cool to have the application WebDav
enabled...
