Yes, it can be used with propietary software, what you can't
do is to distribute software with an GPL incompatible license
and xpy together.

I only will consider to switch to the Python license if the module
becomes part of the standard library, what of course is not going
to happen any time soon if ever.

I could consider to switch to the LGPL, or to provide specific
licenses on demand (in exchange of something, contributions or
money).

I have to think about this, if you or somebody else wants to use
xpy or help with its development and the license is a problem I'm
confident we will find a solution.
