I thought it would be wise to clairify the answer to the answer to the question
posed yesterday (below).

Yes, Corning has made the decision to close Corning IntelliSense. This decision
follows earlier announcements that Corning would close its optical switching
product line and sell a significant portion of its photonic technologies
business. As part of this decision Corning indicated that it is pursuing the
sales of Corning IntelliSense's software and foundry businesses. However,
Corning will not abandon any IntelliSuite customers. The IntelliSuite software
product will continue to function according to the license terms. Second,
Corning IntelliSense continues to support existing software customers as we have
in the past. Support will be provided via e-mail at
intellisense_support@corning.com, and via telephone at 978-988-8000.

Sales, support, and development of IntelliSuite are ongoing as we pursue the
sale of the software business unit. I would be happy to address any questions
at finchna@corning.com or 978-988-8000 x2212.
Also, I will be at COMS 2003 next week where I can address questions from the
Corning IntelliSense booth.

Sincerely,
Nora Finch

>There is a report of a Intellisense shutdown in Lightreading today. This would
be building and fab.

>What would happen to the users of IntelliSuite? Would Corning abandon these
customers?
