Dear members, Lately, I've been checking out some porous materials properties. I've found out that nano/micro porous silicon have a relatively low heat conductance coefficient (0.075 W/mK against 145 W/mK for bulk silicon) and actually can be used as an insulator. Could someone explain this odd phenomenon? Thank you, Danny Klein. _______________________________________ Danny Klein Department of Mechanical Engineering Technion - Israel Institute of Technology Haifa, 32000 Israel Email: dannykl@tx.technion.ac.il Office(Lab) telephone : 972-(4)-8292946(3861)
