Hello All,

I am relatively new to the MEMS industry and would appreciate any
information pertaining to a couple questions I have about Polyimide. In
particular about the PI2600 series from HD Microsystems, the chemical name
(in case other companies have a similar product) is BPDA/PPD –
biphenyldianhydride/1,4 phenylenediamine.

1) Does anyone know of or have a resource that contains the
spectroscopy of the polyimide in question (which includes the 850nm and
1300nm wavelengths), or (even better) actual loss in dB/cm (or similar) at
the same wavelengths?

2) I am currently using product from a previous student’s thesis
which is 5 years old, it has been kept in a freezer for storage. Does
anyone know what (if any) the symptoms would be if the polyimide has truly
expired? (i.e. Dielectric Constant/Index change, weakening of the tensile
strength etc.)

Thanking everyone in advance.
