I have recently obtained film output at 3386dpi from a pre-press agency
in Sunderland, from a drawing created using CorelDraw 8. The line
thickness set to 0.004 points. Observation of the print showed that
whilst features made up of horizontal or vertical lines were acceptable,
circles and diagonal lines were of very poor quality.

Does anybody have any suggestions for producing circular (or diagonal)
features which are better than a series of unconnected 10 micron dots?

I understand that it is possible to obtain masks printed at around
5000dpi (or even 10000 dpi). Is anybody aware of a printer in the UK
(preferably North-East England) who can provide this service? Enquiries
in the local yellow pages have so far proved fruitless.

Many thanks,

Vivek Hajarnavis
