Positions at EG&G IC Sensors

Senior Development Engineer and Research Engineer

The R&D Department of EG&G IC Sensors has two immediate openings for qualified
MEMS professionals. These positions are to support the rapidl y growing effort
at ICS to develop and commercialize leading-edge products using micromachining
technology.

A Senior Development Engineer is sought to assist with the design, process
development, testing, and analysis of the next generation accelerometer die for
automotive frontal and side impact detection.

The commercialization of this product will follow the highly successful
production of our current automotive device. Applicants for this position
should have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of accelerometer design,
fabrication, and testing. A MS degree in EE or ME is required and industrial
experience in high-volume manufacturing is highly desired. Ref #510a.

A Research Engineer position is available to develop custom MEMS devices and to
perform research into the design and application of bimetallic actuators in
micromachined structures. The bimetallic research will be performed under a
recently-funded 3 year government program. The custom device group has
developed a wide variety of structures including interferometers, flow sensors,
inertial-grade accelerometers, electrostatic relays, valves, and flow control
devices. Applicants for this position should have a MSEE or MSME and relevant
experience in the design and fabrication of MEMS devices. Applicants with a
background in material science, particularly in the stress behavior of thin
film materials, are encouraged to apply. Ref. #520a.

EG&G IC Sensors currently employs over 250 people in the design and manufacture
of silicon-based micromachined devices in two facilities in Milpitas and Santa
Clara, in Silicon (MEMS) Valley. After recent acquisition by EG&G, ICS is
positioned to capitalize on the rapid commercialization of MEMS technology. EG&
G ICS is an EOE m/f/d/v employ er.
