Dear MEMS Community, 1) What is the accepted convention for destinguishing a "wet lab" from a "dry lab?" 2) Does anyone know of any good MEMS glossaries around that I might be able to reprint in my nanotechnology dictionary? 3) At exactly what scale (MFS?) does MEMS become NEMS? Question #1 was asked in my nanotechnology forum, in which all nanotech related discussion (even spam at the moment, which should go in the "products and invesments" folder) are welcome. http://forums.about.com/ab-nanotech/messages/?lgnf=y&msg=17.1 "I have talking with several MEMS start-ups; some are pursuing electro-mechanical silicon devices (actuators), others are biologics (DNA testers on a chip). They discuss their needs as dry labs and wet labs. what is the accepted convention used to distinguish the two lab types? Is silicon fabrication for making actuators, etc. a dry lab only application or is it a dry and wet lab mix? I gather that biologics people use wet labs for their biological processes. is this correct?" Best Regards, Steve Lenhert Nanotechnology Guide http://nanotech.about.com
