Our group has developed the ability to produce gold-coated ultra-smooth nickel
foils. The foils are as smooth as 3 angstroms. We have been producing sample
foils over the summer with the support of student help. If you are interested

In the manufacturing process, the flats are produced with a rim. Usually we
simply trim opposing notches in this rim for grazing incidence X-ray
reflectivity tests. If you need more trimming or no trimming at all please
specify in your request. The flats come in sizes from 1 to 1.5 inches in
diameter. If the smaller diameter will be satisfactory, also please specify.
